"Featured Artist Series" part of an ongoing series of new work exhibited in the spring and summer season by River Gallery artists and visiting artists. Artist Jaye Schlesinger looks with intensity at subjects that intrigue her, and portrays them in a way that allows them to become metaphorical and provocative. In the process of careful observation she takes an object out of its environment or normal context. This allows her to focus on form rather than function and leads her to find the soul within an inanimate object. Come join us in discovering the beauty of Jaye's perfectly executed pastel paintings. Jaye Schlesinger Pastels on paper: A collection of recent work runs from May 10 - June 1, 2007, with an opening reception on Sunday, May 11, 2-4 pm.
