Chelsea Community Hospital Children’s Center

CCH Children's Center - Day Care for infants through 6th grade in Chelsea, MIChelsea Community Hospital established the Children's Center in 1977. We offer a healthy social and educational experience in a stimulating environment. Our day care program is open to the community as well as employees' children.

We pride ourselves on offering a child-centered program in an atmosphere of warmth and security. Each child is a unique person and so his/her needs are met in a variety of ways. The program incorporates a schedule that alternates quiet with active play, solitary with group play, and child-directed with teacher-directed activities. It is designed to meet each child's individual physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs.

Infant, Toddler, Preschool Child Care in Chelsea, MIWe care for children in a warm and affectionate manner, with respect to each child's individual needs, preferences and moods. Caregivers develop a close bond with the children and their families. A sense of trust and comfort is developed by actively seeking parental participation in decision-making.

School Age Programs

Partnering with the Chelsea School District, we offer before and after school care for children in the district at two separate locations. Our North Creek Elementary site is for K-6th before school and K-2nd after school. The Pierce Lake site is for 3-6th graders after school. 

We also offer full day childcare for school in-service, vacations, and inclement weather days.

Arts and crafts, cooking, board games, cards, manipulative toys, and outdoor activities are offered. During the school-year, homework time is also offered.

During the summer months, field trips are included. Examples include local swimming pools, museums, science centers, the zoo, bowling, roller skating, ice skating, blueberry picking, horseback riding, Splash Adventure, Independence Lake, Vet's Park, and the library.

Lead Staff

Licensed by the Department of Human Services. Lead staff hold an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Education and all assistant teachers have completed the equivalency of their CDA (Child Development Associate Credential). All staff have current CPR and First Aid training.
